So this week I'm spending the week in Sunderland renovating the second property we've taken on on this particular road. I'm staying in a Travelodge and working 12-14 hour days painting, cleaning and refurnishing a property ready for new tenants from next week. I've had many funny comments from intrigued workmen and fellow property professionals wondering why I'm doing the work myself. Why not pay somebody to do it?
But my budget is tight and work doesn't come for free. So I do what I can to make the budget count where it's needed most. Plus I love the feeling of finishing a refurb and knowing that I created the final product.
Hopefully I'm gaining respect from the intrigued onlookers once they see how hard I'm prepared to work and what the final product looks like!
